Ten Empowering Steps
30 Day Programme

1.      Set your alarm 15 minutes earlier for the next thirty days and during those 15 minutes do the following.

a)      Plan your day. Write down what you need to do what you have to do and what you want to do. Then prioritise when and how you will do each action. Visualise / imagine the day going to plan and see yourself ticking off each task as you achieve it.

b)     Get energised, Bounce, Skip, Hop, Dance Walk briskly anything to get the Circulation flowing and get the endorphins on your side.

2.      Go to bed 15 minutes earlier than usual for the next thirty days and do the following

a)      Make a note either in your journal or in your head of all the positive things that have happened that day.

b)     Meditate for a short while you can use a specially recorded CD to help with this or simply dim the lights take some deep breaths and contemplate your day. Free download available. See below for a relaxation.

3.      Watch the Film “Pay it Forward” with Kevin Spacey, Haley Joel Osmett and Helen Hunt. Warner Bros 2000.

4.      Do a spontaneous act of kindness each day for the next thirty days. This could be holding the door for a stranger or giving up your seat, Speak to a lonely neighbour, smile at the cashier, pay someone a complement, or partake in voluntary work. Anything – Don’t expect any thanks just do it for the positive impact it will have on your life and the person whose life you just enriched

5.      Write a list of 30 things you just put up with such as untidy shelves, unpaired socks, unhealthy diet, overgrown garden, Anything it’s your list. Then take action each day to remove one thing from the list. By the end of the programme you will be feeling very proud of yourself.

6.      Write a list of 30 things you are grateful for and keep it with you at all times. The attitude of gratitude is a fantastic tool to have.

7.      Do something different each day even if it’s how you cook your vegetables, the journey to work listening to a different radio station or trying a different type of music.

8.      Turn up your favourite music and dance ~ Do it every day or just once a week during the thirty days it’s up to you.

9.      Take a walk in the fresh air either by yourself or with friends and family, If possible try to walk near water to feel fully energised and rejuvenated. Notice the environment around you and see the beauty of nature.

10. You can’t have a spring in your step and put your best foot forward if your feet don’t hit the mark.  So give yourself a home pedicure or treat yourself with a visit to a Foot Health Practitioner or try Reflexology.

It’s important when making changes in your life to fully commit to the changes. As falling by the way side and back into old habits can become tempting and in some cases expected.
Here are a few tips that will help you on your journey.

~ Change your internal dialogue See the glass as half full not half empty.

~ “Fake it ‘til you make it” Internal and external dialogue use the present tense   I Am, I do, I have, etc

~ Hum or sing Winnie the pooh finds great comfort in it

~ Smile for no apparent reason its drives people insane!

~ Find an affirmation that you can repeat should things get sticky. I use “healthy wealthy happy” some people make a positive sentence such as I am living my life in optimum health wealth and happiness.

~ Find yourself a buddy to do the 30 day plan. Support from a loved one is invaluable. And you will also be accountable to each other.

~ Wear an elastic band on your wrist and when you find yourself slipping into negative dialogue give is a quick twang. Simple and inexpensive but an effective reminder.
